Clifford William Stark June 11, 1924 - June 21, 2011
Clifford William Stark was born in Williamson County on June 11, 1924. He passed away, after a long illness, on June 21, 2011 at Christopher House in Austin. He was resilient and proud of his Swedish heritage. He grew up in Williamson County and lived most his life in Austin.
He believed in hard work, put his church and family above everything else . He was Elder Emeritus at South Austin Christian Church. He had been in the Del Valle Lions Club for many years. He was a 15 gallon blood donor and wished to have donated more, but illness prevented him from doing so. He was proud to have served in the Navy during WWII. He had been a City of Austin Fireman for several years and a meat cutter for over 40 years.
He was preceded in death by parents Henry and Ellen Stark; infant brothers Adolf and Oliver Stark; brothers Lambert, Lawrence, Floyd, Howard; sisters, Frances Branum and Helen Howland Bostock.
Clifford is survived by his wife of 59 years, Nayoma Fisher Stark; daughter Laura Cunningham and husband Randy; son, Neal and wife Ruth; 3 grandchildren, Holly, Karsyn and Sarah; 3 step-grandchildren, Brian, Brent and Brandon. His is also survived by brothers Milton and wife Charla, Clarence and wife Gay, Marvin and wife Barbara, Weldon and wife Charlene; sister-in-laws Elnora and Elizabeth. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and beloved friends.
Funeral services are at 10:00am, Saturday, June 25th at Harrell Funeral Home. Visitation is Friday, June 24th, 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are Greg and Ryan Stark, Al Reyes, Jim Rowe, Bobby Burklund and Ricky Turner.
Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Clifford Stark to the American Heart Association or the National Arthritis Foundation.
The Family wishes to express deep appreciation to Dr. Douglas Salmon who was so involved with Dad's care and staff at St. David's South Austin Medical Center.
