Many questions will arise when you consider pre-arranging. We, here at Harrell Funeral Home, can provide the professional guidance and expertise that will answer any questions and help you make informed decisions. You can start now by filling out our on-line preplanning form.

There are many reasons why a person may want to consider pre-arranging a funeral. Primarily, it provides a sense of security. Security in knowing your wishes are known and will be followed; security in knowing that survivors will be relieved of the burdensome decisions that must be made at the time of death; security in knowing you can make choices now that are flexible enough to allow changes; and security in knowing that you can finance your funeral preferences in advance.

Pre-funding provides peace of mind, locks in today's prices, and simplifies things for your loved ones at the time of your death. When applying for Medicaid/Supplemental Security Income, you have the option of making the funeral plan "irrevocable", which removes the value of the plan from the computation which determines eligibility for these government benefits.

There are several ways to fund your pre-need plans, two of which protect you against inflation and price increases. They are:

Funeral Directors Life Insurance Company is specifically designed to pay for your customized plans at death. Depending on your age, you may be able to choose among single, 3 year, 5 year, of 10 year payment plans. Your answers to three health questions determines whether your death benefit is immediately 100% or an increasing benefit over three years.

A Trust through Harrell Funeral Home is a contract whereby you may take up to five years to pay for your arrangements, with no interest or finance charges. Your "death benefit", should you die during that payment period, is equal to the payments you have made.

You may also simply decide to establish your plans but use existing resources at the time to pay for them, however, the costs will increase and your family will pay current prices. Life insurance proceeds can be used, as well as savings and/or other assets.

When you consult with us you are under no obligation to make a purchase or commitment. Our guidance is a service to you. Making arrangements when your emotions are at rest makes good sense.

Sometime, somewhere, the following information will need to be completed by someone. Provide peace of mind to your family by pre-planning today. A pre-planning information sheet follows. This covers much of the information normally needed for the various legal and practical needs that arise following a death. Once we have received this information, we will open and maintain your file, following up with you only if necessary.

At Harrell Funeral Home, we take your right to confidentiality very seriously. We will not share information you submit to us with any person or entity outside of our company not legally entitled to receive it.

The online pre-planning form was designed to allow us to gather basic information about you and your desired funeral service. If you would like to plan your service in its entirety, please use the links below to create a new or edit an existing Preplanning account.
