Patsy attended school in Kyle, Texas and after graduation in 1959 worked several years for the State of Texas. She married Don Buckmaster July 12, 1969, continued to work for a few more years and then retired. The last 20 years of her life she was on dialysis due to polycystic kidney disease. She developed a severe infection and died peacefully with family members by her side.
Patsy had many interests. She was very good at calligraphy and frequently dressed up her letters with fancy writing and drawings. She loved flowers, birds and especially her cats, Kecia, Smokey, Snowflake, Mitzi, Bozo and Bito.
Patsy was preceded in death by her parents, Martin H. and Naomi Lee Simon and brother Robert Simon.
She is survived by her husband Don Buckmaster; sisters Ruth and June Simon; brothers, Martin H. Simon and wife Alice and Edward Simon and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, February 25, 2010 at Harrell Funeral Home Chapel, 4435 Frontier Trail, Austin, TX.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Polycystic Kidney Foundation.
