Cheryl Lynn Malik Adrian
Cheryl Lynn Malik Adrian, 60 of Dripping Springs, Texas passed away unexpectedly, Saturday, Feb. 20, 2010. She was born in Sinton, Texas on May 16, 1949 to Edward and Fontella Joan Malik.
Cheryl was a wonderful wife, mother and super grandmother. Her sons, grandchildren and husband were her life, and she dedicated it to them. She adored her grandchildren and talked about them constantly and showed pictures of them to everyone she met.
Cheryl grew up in Refugio, Texas and graduated in 1967. On Feb. 11, 1968, she married her high school sweetheart Danny Adrian whom she had known since they were in elementary school. She loved traveling, cruising and dancing.
Cheryl worked at Hickham AFB, Honolulu Hawaii, IRS Service Center, Austin, Texas and the Department of Veteran's Affairs, Austin, Texas. She retired in 2007 after 34 years of federal service.
She was preceded in death by her father, Edward Malik and brother, Nelson Malik.
Survivors include her husband of 42 years, Danny Adrian of Dripping Springs, Texas; son, Shawn and wife Gina of New Braunfels, Texas; son, Kevin and wife Rhonda of Dripping Springs, Texas and mother, Fontella Joan Malik of Victoria, Texas; four grandchildren, Tristan 13, Kenzie 8, Orry 3 and Asa 5 months. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Cheryl was active and enjoyed being in the Ladies Oriental Shrine, and Daughters of the Nile. She was also an active member of Abiding Love Lutheran Church.
Visitation will be Tuesday, February 23, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., at Harrell Funeral Home, 4435 Frontier Trail, Austin, TX. Services will be Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Abiding Love Lutheran Church, 7210 Brush Country Road, Austin, TX with internment at Forest Oaks Memorial Park, 6300 W. William Cannon, Austin, TX.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Ben Hur Shriners Transportation Fund of the Shriners Children's Hospital.
