Edna Ann Stewart Gray passed away Saturday, January 23, 2010.
Edna Ann was born July 4, 1932 to E. N. & Thelma Stewart. She was born and lived her early life in Austin, TX. later moving to Creedmoor, TX. in 1966, with her husband and 4 children, where she lived until her passing.Edna Ann graduated from Austin High School and married her High School sweetheart, Ben Gray on February 14, 1952. She and Ben would have been married 58 years on Valentine's Day, 2010. Edna Ann worked at the Texas Education Agency for many years until she retired and worked with Ben in the family owned business, Central Texas Water Maintenance. Edna Ann & Ben were members of the International Royal Rovers Travel Club and loved to travel all over the US with their many friends. Since Edna shared the same birthday as our great Nation, she led a proud, patriotic life with Ben, who often referred to her as his "firecracker". Edna Ann never met a stranger and loved everyone she met. Her favorite activities were cooking for her family, fishing, playing dominoes, cards and reading. Edna Ann fought a courageous, lengthy battle against cancer yet she never lost her positive attitude or sense of humor. She will be greatly missed by all those touched by her life.
Edna Ann is survived by her husband, Ben E. Gray, Sr.; sons, Ben E. Gray, Jr. and wife Connie, William E. Gray and wife Tammy, John M. Gray and wife Karla; and daughter, Mary Ann and husband Joe E. Tristan. Edna Ann is also survived by 11 Grandchildren and 2 Great-Grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at Harrell Funeral Home in Austin
Funeral Service will be held 10:00 A.M. Thursday, January 28, 2010 at Harrell Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at Live Oak Cemetery in Manchaca, TX.
Pallbearers are Stephen Gray, Harrison Gray, Lance Tristan, Ethan Tristan, Noah Gray and Eric Garza.
