- Doris Marie Allen Siebert went to her Lord on January 13, 2010, following a long illness. Doris was born to Mason and Effie Allen in Bertram, Texas in 1921. She lived her life in the central Texas area graduating Buda High School in 1938. She met and married Fred Siebert, her husband of 61 years, then lived in Manchaca for over 57 years until recently moving to north Austin.
Doris was a devout member of the Southwest Church of Christ since its beginning. She loved her family, cooking, reading, genealogy and doing good works. Doris was employed by Scarbrough's Store where she retired in 1984 after having worked there for over 30 years.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and great grandson, Michael David Siebert.
Bill and Midge Siebert of Manchaca, June Lee and Carol Ferguson of Austin are saddened by their mother's passing. Also to grieve are her true legacy, her grandchildren: Cami (Aaron) Algaier, Scott (Linda) Siebert, Keith (Phyllis) Siebert, Kenneth (Dennise) Lee, and Kevin (Terri) Lee; eleven great-grandchildren; sister, Frances Toungate of Oklahoma; sisters-in-law Margaret Stepan and Lennie Siebert of Austin.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, January 15, 2010 at Harrell Funeral Home, Austin, TX.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 16, 2010 at Harrell Funeral Home, Austin, TX. Burial will follow at Live Oak Cemetery, Manchaca, TX.
